The new voice actors are okay overall but they have a long way to go to fill the shoes of the great original cast.

Personally, I don't understand why the original seiyuus were brought back for the first arc of Hades and for the Overture movie (20 productions respectively) to then be discarded when the new generation were familiarising themselves with the voices. This has created the same kind of controversy within the fandom that it did back when the same thing was done with the Lupin voice actors. As you would have probably heard, the original seiyuus for this show have all been fired because Kurumada (original creator) thought they sounded too old for their parts. Now to the most anticipated part: The voice acting.

The new intro recaptures the energy of the original series as opposed to the mood of the Hades Sanctuary Chapter which is good but also strange at the same time since it feels weird as a continuation.

The sound so far is good with the wonderful original compositions still used to their full potential. These warrant the animation a 4 instead of a 2 or a 3. The good aspects I can find here are just that the original character design is kept and it is as wonderful as it always was and the Pegasus Ryu Sei Ken bits are actually animated. There are even scenes where characters are talking that do not have any animation to them! They had a vision for Saint Seiya and a look sorted out for it that has been replaced with sheer mediocrity. This makes the production look very amateurish and it is no surprise that this is very much due to the original staff (still present in the first Hades Story Arc) having been fired. Such as when they zoom in or zoom out on a scene, you do not actually get a zoom effect but a jumping frame effect. The backgrounds look very cheap, there is barely any framerate. The animation for this is disastrous when compared with the exquisite nature of the preceeding Arc of the Hades story. Through my review I might include historical things about the show's iconic status so I will ask for you to bare with me as they serve a purpose.

Through all this success, we (the fans) still had to wait another 3 years before we got the continuation of the Hades Chapter and this is it, Chapter Inferno. It started a little bit of a Saint Seiya Revival with the remastered original series being released on DVD and the launch of the Myth Cloths. When the Hades Sanctuary Chapter was made in 2002, I was extremely pleased that after about 15 years we were finally going to get more Saint Seiya. This history I have with the show makes it all the more difficult for me to review this particular chapter. As a kid, I used to watch the original series religiously and I would dare to say that it is the best shounen anime I've seen. I have been a fan of Saint Seiya for as long as I can remember. As I watch more of it, I will be updating my review so some aspects are subject to change. This review is only based on the first two episodes of this OVA series.
